Why does my 2000 fiat brava 1.2 sx petrol burn oil had head gasket done and timing belt changed 65k miles?

oil and water not mixing and car never over heats sometimes white smoke comes out of exhaust i think i think it may be the seals how much would this cost to fixWhy does my 2000 fiat brava 1.2 sx petrol burn oil had head gasket done and timing belt changed 65k miles?Try a thicker grade of oil (higher viscosity). The piston rings are probably worn %26amp; this happened when the engine overheated %26amp; knackered the head.

You say white smoke is coming out of the exhaust?? If your engine was burning oil, it would be emitting blue smoke.

White smoke tends to mean water is entering the exhaust system.

If it is burning oil, it could be from, as already mentioned, the piston rings. Or it could be the valve stem oil seals...which requires quite a lot of labour.
White smoke is normal until the engine warms up.

If it`s burning oil,you should see blue smoke from the exhaust.

If you get blue smoke when you start up first thing in the morning,or pulling away from lights after a wait,it`s most likely the valve stem oil seals

Otherwise it`s the piston rings.

If there is no smoke, check for leaks.

It`s difficult to give a price, some car`s valve stem oil seals can be replaced without removing the cylinder head, but most not.

If it`s the rings, the head and sump will have to come off,and maybe the engine will have to be removed to remove the sump.
