2004 dodge stratus r/t coupe timing belt?

My car has 75,000 miles on it, is it necessary to change the timing belt and water pump now or can it wait until I reach 100,000 miles and how much should I expect to pay?2004 dodge stratus r/t coupe timing belt?if its 2.4 id have it changed pretty soon if its v-6 engine they have a chain and gears and will last a lot longer but you still need to change those around 150 thousand,or else they will break and leave you stranded on the side of the road, good luck.

i have an r/t and never changed those and have 105k on it so with normal driving you should be okay...i am so far : ) i do have problems with the real wheel bearings though.

Funny i saw a stratus rt broken down today too. Well yeah i would change the water pump and timing belt to be safe so you don't end up on the side of the road and keep up on the basic maintenance. Cost should be 200-400 bucks in all
What engine is it? The 2.7 liter has a timing chain which lasts a lot longer.
