1998 dodge neon r/t SOHC timing belt.?

I was wondering if anyone has recently had their timing belt changed in their 98 dodge neon sohc? I need to get mine done badly and i don't know how to do it myself so i want a pro to do it.. About how much will it cost to get everything done?1998 dodge neon r/t SOHC timing belt.?your looking at about 350 bucks to get the timing belt and the water pump replaced on it, you don't do this in a few minutes and its real important that its gets put back in time right or else you may get engine damage from it being installed wrong, the single over head cam engine can bend valves in the head if it isn't installed right and that will cost you a lot of money to get it fixed, have a shop do this one because its not an easy job to do,and getting i back in time is a little bit tricky also,id rather pay someone to do it as have the engine messes up on it,i get the all the time when owners have tried to install them and got it so bad out of time that it bent the valves in the head, the 350 you pay now will be well worth it,good luck.

TIMING BELTS FOR THESE ARE BETWEEN 45-55$ AT AUTO ZONE NOW TO INSTALL ITS NOT THAT HARD BUT A CHEAP MECHANIC SHOULD CHARGE YOU LIKE 20-50

JUST REMOVE AND INSTALL TAKES LIKE 5-10 MINS

timig belts are usually removed by loosening up the altenator bracket and pulling out the old belt then on your engine bay their should be a sticker with a diagrahm that explains how to route the new timing belt ......throw it in and tightend everything back up

i did this to my car 2 months ago took me like 5 mins

Take it to the dealer as it is VERY CRUCIAL to get the timing of the camshaft correct. It won't be too expensive since it is an easy job to do but requires knowledge and special tools.

edit: sorry I meant dealer/mechanic

Either way it will be fairly cheap.
Ballpark, $450-600, depending where you have it done and what parts they replace. The answer above is more or less correct for the accessory belt replacement. The timing belt can be a 6 hr job.
check around at a few independent shops and get some prices.

Also make sure the estimate guarantees they can't exceed it by more than 10%. That helps keep them honest.
probly about 300$ depending where you go....get a guy with no %26quot;overhead%26quot; and it wont be as much....i had my timing chain done on my 97 dakota...i got a guy with a %26quot;low overhead%26quot; ....cost me 350$....urs is a chain and isnt as difficult...so i would say it is about 300$ its a good idea to get it done....could mess ur engine up
