Timing belt replacement costs for mazda 323 protege 2001?

i have a mazda 323 protege from 2001, 150000km. Never replaced the timing belt, the car runs superbly. How much does it cost to replace it and I heard somebody talking about accesories that also need to be replaced. What accesories or do they have to be changed and how much altogether is it gonna cost me? Does it worth the effort? Thank you.Timing belt replacement costs for mazda 323 protege 2001?If it runs good,DON%26quot;T change it, the belts from the factory may last the lifetime of the vehicle. U r talking big $ with the labor %26amp; parts.

Strange that a mechanic would say not to change an item that is supposed to be changed. Hmm.

Belt, water pump, tensioner are the typical items.

You can find shops around here that will do that job for around $500 USD.

Probably a half day job to do yourself if you've never done one before and are reasonably good at working on your car. Save 70-80% if you do it yourself.
